Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into a family in South London. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mom is English. She was raised in the south of a London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. While attending the academy, she performed in several stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actor through the film Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe landed her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following that she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. In the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with her drama The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes before being cancelled on The CW. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After appearing on the show for the initial two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe was set to depart the series following her appearance on the premiere episode from the 3rd season. Between 2014 and 2016she appeared in Salem as Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 Madekwe was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he was also on the show with Madekwe in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty together with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers as well as hockey in winter. Ashley couldn't walk, however she could dance. This led to the fact that when she turned 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley became a dancer from that moment. Ashley continued to dance competitively through high school graduation, with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and much more. In addition, she won top soloists awards in all major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
