
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born 10 July 1980)[1 is an American performer, actress businesswoman, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. After singing in church choirs as a young girl, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997 at seventeen. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, was sold two million copies in the US market. The hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever" was a commercial hit. Simpson's sophomore studio album, Irresistible is a more mature release. The album's title track was Simpson's second highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album, sold 3 million copies across the United States. Simpson's prior career was marked by her wedding to Nick Lachey. She also appeared on MTV's reality television series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and in 2005. Simpson made her movie debut in The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004). The singer also performed the cover version of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" to be used in the film's soundtrack. 2006 saw the release of her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She also appeared in the romantic comedy movie Employee of the Month. Following the release of her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the genre of country music. Simpson began The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a fashion-focused collection with 34 product categories. It's the most successful famous brand of license in the history of fashion that has more than $1 billion of sales so far. Simpson was also a guest in The Price of Beauty, an upcoming reality show on television in 2010. She also judged the designs for clothing for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three kids.
